In June 2021, the reconstruction and renovation of my husband Michalis' parental home was completed. The detached farmhouse became the Village Villa
Marika, the ground floor of the residential building to Village Villa Mimis, named after the parents. With handmade furniture, partly made of olive wood from our olive grove and with great attention to detail, we offer the apartments with modern
comfort and traditional atmosphere, attention paid to freedom of movement without lacking in cosiness.

Drapanias, the traditional home village of my husband Michalis, is 35 km away from Chania, easy to reach on the highway towards Kissamos.
We will meet you at the exit and bring you to your booked holiday home.
From the centre of the village, the well-developed mountain road leads up to the district of Pano Drapanias (around 1,5km). Our two Village Villas Marika and Mimis are the last buildings after 1. 7km,
From your enclosed, personally used terrace you have an unobstructed view of the Cretan mountains and olive trees. The shared rooftop sun terrace overlooks the entire bay of Kissamos. The mountain road takes you even further to the olive groves,
where we also harvest our olives in winter. A wonderful path for a walk!
In the village itself you will find everything for everyday life, a small supermarket, a really excellent bakery, a kafenion and an old-established restaurant. And if you feel like taking the bus across the country, the bus stop is right next to the supermarket.
There are very warm people in Drapanias who are always happy to help when a question arises. The beach of Drapanias is 3km away, also on foot a beautiful path through nature and is not yet mass tourism
Many popular holiday destinations are within easy reach, such as Balos, Elafonissi Beach, Falassarna or Polirinia.
5km away is the county town of Kissamos, there you will find big supermarkets and small Aunt Emma shops, banks, the post office, medical care, a beach promenade,
Sandy beach, tourist shops etc.
We ourselves live in Trachilos at our gallery, 400m from the ferry port of Kissamos on the way to Falassarna. But of course we are always available for you.

The kitchenette is fully equipped for daily use.
The sofa (90cm x 200cm) can be prepared as a bed if necessary as well as the rear part of the bench, which can be folded out. The solid handmade oval wooden table and its traditional chairs invite you to make yourself comfortable.
A small passage leads to the bathroom and the bedroom.

A spacious bedroom, double bed (1,80m x 2m), fitted wardrobe. Breathable mattress with eco-seal, anti-allergic pillows, 100% cotton bedding.
Bathroom
Comfortable large shower area, bathroom furniture in olive wood with handmade ceramic hand wash basin. Both for the bath towels and for your clothes there are hanging possibilities.

Common use of guests, however each apartment has its own entrance.
After each guest change, all rooms and the outdoor area are cleaned according to Covid 19 rules. With antibacterial cleaning agents, also the protective covers of the mattresses and pillows are changed, the curtains, seat cushions, mattresses and pillows are disinfected with hot steam.
As more and more people develop allergies in our time, we deliberately do not use a softener when washing.
For this reason, you can’t bring your pet to us.
Smoking is only allowed outdoors.

Our apartments have a natural room climate, as the buildings are built on the back into the mountain, as well as during the renovation we have insulated all rooms according to the latest standard, even in August there is no heating of the rooms.
All our previous guests were pleased about the pleasant room temperature. Should you still need a cooler pinch to fall asleep, fans are available in every room.
The windows are fitted with mosquito nets.
Upon your arrival there is of course cooled water for refreshment, seasonal fruits and our homemade house wine to relax.Also for your first morning coffee is provided.
